Rains are experienced in the south and eastern parts of Iran while other parts experience arid conditions. Rain mainly falls during winter season around the Mediterranean while the summer season is very hot. The coast of the Caspian Sea is slightly colder with temperatures of five to seven degrees Celsius. Rainfall ranges between to millimeters annually.
